Avalanche Conditions

An interesting blustery day today produced a couple of size 2 avalanches on the S asp of Mt Fernie. 20 to 40cm deep, 75m wide and ran perhaps 300m or more. Wind loaded on yesterdays freezing rain crust? I'm quite sure there were plenty of other avalanches nearby on other mountains.
