Climbed the NE Ridge of Wedge Mountain today with another guide for some training!
All in all quite good conditions.
The trail up to the lake is effectively snow free and in great shape. Snow starts at the lake, which is still covered in ice. Once on the glacier traveled fluxuated from excellent to terrible! Good travel up to around 2100m where the snow changed to isothermal with a thin crust only carrying in few places. Once on the ridge snow improved and provided good steps to the summit.
Personally id give the route a pass for another week or so to let the snow firm up a bit more or be really cognisant of your timing. Additionally, this isothermal snow could pose a risk to natural triggered avalanches and increase chance of falling into a slot if there isnt a good freeze ovnight.
