The ice conditions in the laurentians (shawbridge to mont tremblant - 1 to 2 hours north of Montreal) continue to deteriorate with the warmer trending temps. For the past week temps began to drop but not enough to starve off the rotting already started. All aspects have been affected including the north aspects. Rain and warmer temps are in the forecast. Most south faces are falling apart including the big fat flows due to being sun baked or delaminating. A little ice was generated from the past two days but is quickly disappearing due to the warming trend. A few north face routes are ‘barely holding on’ such as the Lake Superior area on the north side of mont tremblant. Best to probably scratch the rock on dry tooling lines for the next little while until a new cooler system settles in.
