We climbed Mount Wooley on Tuesday via the Wooley Diadem col. Judging from the avy debris below the faces most of the snow that could did come down in the previous week's rain storms.
The seracs to climbers left of the two main couloirs on Deltaform looked threatening on the way up, so we climbed first the right hand then at half height switched to the left couloir. Once on the flatter upper glacier we found boot deep penetration in wet snow at 9 am. The upper ridge has some cornices remaining but they were easily dealt with at two small rock steps on the way to the summit. On the way down we simply descended the climber's left couloir all the way.
Incredible views with not a breath of wind on the top.
Strangely, I was told by parks that the bivouac permits were sold out all summer in the Mount Alberta area, though there was nobody at the beautiful bivi site as we went by.
First time up the peak, seemed like near perfect conditions.
