Avalanche Conditions

Parks Canada Visitor Safety was doing some work in the southern Wapta and Little Yoho Valley today.

Some conditions photos can be seen on our Facebook page here: shorturl.at/suKMP

Some snow profiles from the area can be viewed on the MIN: www.avalanche.ca

Overall, pretty good snowpack for Dec. 2nd. Consistently firm snowpack on the Lilliput glacier ranging from 120 - 250 cm.

Some thinly bridged crevasses on the standard Balfour High Col ascent and an interesting new glacial depression on the south side of the col that could be nasty to run into in poor visibility (see attached photos).

Beautiful, warm day in the alpine.
