Had a recreational day on the Silverhorn with Ryan on June 29th, found glacier conditions to be as described by Mark from his post on the 28th. (boot top walking)

On the Silverhorn itself found the snow coverage to vary from 30 to 100cm. Lots of breakable crusts in upper part of snowpack, and dry facets in the lower snowpack once you're past the bergschrund. (which is totally buried at the usual crossing point, and only just peaking out further to climbers right) Mostly mid-thigh wallowing up a snowy stairmaster. Ugh.

Descent down the AA col in the PM was tedious walking in variably snow - punching in every few steps up to your knees. My shins are still bruised. =(

Plenty of recent avy activity, but cloudy weather keep the temp just above zero all day for us.
As many others have pointed out, still very wintery in them hills.
