Trail Conditions

Hi All,
Myself and seven guests just completed a 7 day backpacking trip with Yamnuska Mountain Adventures from Vista Lake (Banff National Park) to the Mount Shark Trailhead (Spray Lakes Provincial Park) by way of Magog Lake and Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. Overall trail conditions were quite good. There were however extensive muddy patches between Shadow Lake and Egypt Lake, as well as lingering patches of snow on the trail (with good support/less than 5cm foot pen) on the north side of Whistling Pass. Further south, there was very little accessible water between the hill above the Porcupine Junction and Og Lake Campground (fill up those water bladders before descending after the Howard Douglas Lake Campground). Otherwise good travel conditions, particularly so in Mount Assiniboine PP. Enjoy the sunny skies while they last!
Happy Trails,
