Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

Went for a walk with fellow guide Tom Gruber into Haffner Creek yesterday to check on early season mixed conditions. As to be expected with all the rain we had yesterday there was quite a lot of rockfall from above the climbs on the climbers left side mostly near Swank. None of the climbs that require ice to top out are even close to being ready. We removed a tombstone sized block off of a new route on the climbers right side with the smallest amount of pressure. No amount of winter freezing would of secured this block. This was quite alarming given the size and likelihood of hitting your belayer. My apologies for the lack of photos.
