Climbing Conditions

Guided an ascent of the Ames Ice Hose January 24th. We needed to put the trail back in and snowshoes were required. The approach time took two hours. Pitch 1 and 3 are in fat and dry conditions. Pitch 2 was dry but very layered and digging was required to find reliable screw placements. Be aware of where you leave your pack or may be buried by spindrift with all the new snow. The second photo is the top of pitch 2 to give reference for how snowy the climb was in the low angle areas.
