We were at Applebee campground for three days climbing classic moderates the 17th- 20th. Most days brought afternoon rain, with heavy rain overnight on the 18th. This led to a decidedly uncrowded and pleasant camping experience.
We were surprised to hear concerns from the few arriving as we left of poor conditions on the infamous Bugaboo Snowpatch col. In direct contrast, the path up the col is in excellent condition, easy snow steps from bottom to top, with perhaps only the last step or two on exposed ice. Many people were negotiating the col in approach shoes, which seemed reasonable, though we wore crampons.
Climbing conditions overall were excellent.
