Ski Conditions

Had a beautiful day at Surprise Pass today. There was no wind and the sky was mostly clear. A few cm's of new snow fell overnight but nothing significant enough to change the ski quality or fill in the many tracks. There was one section mid way down the run where some fresh snow was still available, but especially in the entrance and the bottom the old tracks are industrial. The wind hasn't created any slab in the area we traveled today and untracked snow quality is still good. Overall the coverage is good and the solid base from earlier in the November is still supportive and making travel possible. The lake is not quite frozen over and for those interested in ice climbing, Louise Falls needs some more time. (see photo)
