I guided a tour over Surprise Pass yesterday (11 April). The snow was so good on the way over, we couldn't resist a bonus descent off the north side of Saddle Pass. Overcast skies and cooler temperatures kept the snow dry and light without slab properties. Very good skiing for any season on plenty of new snow which overlay a supportive temperature crust at treeline and below.
