Mount Assiniboine Trail Report from July 2-6,2018

Trail Conditions

Hi Folks
Rain, snow and sunshine were our companions on this trip to Assiniboine Provincial Pass.

Bryant Creek / Assiniboine Pass Trail are in good seasonal conditions, with some muddy sections to be expected.
Higher up towards Assiniboine Pass, we embraced rain and snow as part of the deal to be outside. The trail in that section was snowy and had some water running on it, but should dry up fast, given the warm temperatures in the forecast.

A side trip to Wonder Pass revealed snow still lingering in the meadows. However, the path itself, from Assiniboine to the Pass, was good.
We did not venture beyond.

The trail system from Assiniboine to Sunshine Village is mostly in good shape with isolated areas of muddy, wet/snow patches, as well as the odd log over the trail.

Caution, the Assiniboine/ Sunshine Meadows region is prime bear habitat, as was evident with the many bear diggings, tracks and scats along the way.

Please enjoy the scenery while staying on the trails, as the development of trail braiding is a constant concern in this fragile mountain meadow environment.

Happy Trails, Martina
