Climbing Conditions

Climbed Spray River Falls today. Approach is well traveled but icy on the main trail. No avalanche debris in the gully, so the slopes above have not yet slid this year. The route was in great shape. Three pitches and two rappels total using 60m ropes. Belay in the cave on the right side of the pillar - the pillar was steep (grade 5) but excellent ice and good gear. Be prepared to drill abalakov anchors for the descent.
