Snowy Access, Dry Rock

Mt Tupper, Rogers Pass Conditions

Climbing Conditions

Went for an exploratory climb via the "Single Bench" Couloir on Mt Tupper on Saturday, May 27. Excellent booting and cramponing from 1280m to the col at 2650m.

Descended North via multiple rappels and icy frontpointing to the Tupper Glacier.

Good corn skiing from the Tupper Glacier down the Hermit Meadows Campground where quality deteriorated rapidly.

Notes:
The West Ridge of Mt Tupper appeared to be dry enough for an early ascent, but skis would be ideal for the descent.

The West Face and NW Ridge Routes on Mt Macdonald appeared to be in optimal condition for an early season ascent and descent on snow via the Herdman.
