Snowline at 1800m

Mt Macdonald

Climbing Conditions

Trails around Rogers Pass are snowbound below tree-line, and will remain that way for a little while yet. Snowline at Rogers Pass is roughly at 1800m on sunny aspects (Hermit trail), but there are snow patches to be found on shady aspects at lower elevations.

The snow gullies leading up towards Mt Macdonald are in good shape to provide fast access/egress to the rock climbing above. With plenty of snow lingering on the hanging slopes above, be wary of rockfall as the snow melts.
