Climbing Conditions

We got shut down by deep snow drifts attempting to get into the north and then south Ghost yesterday. Recent strong winds and new snow have filled in long sections making travel very slow. We had an F150 with decent clearance, good winter tires + chains, but our efforts were futile.

Plan B landed us at Moonlight in Evan Thomas Creek which was in excellent shape. Surprisingly no other climbers in the area. Snowline looked very thin with a 30m runout to ice thick enough for a 10cm screw. 2 Low 4 Zero was also thin but likely climbing ok with the protection bolts. Chantilly looked in good shape.

Happy 2018!
