Snowbound in subalpine

Emerald Triangle Loop Yoho

Trail Conditions

Hi Folks

Pre season conditions remain in the upper subalpine along the Emerald Triangle Loop Trail.

The Burgess Pass Trail portion ( Emerald Lake TH) is littered with fallen trees; also, it is still snowbound as you approach the Pass area. Route finding necessary!

Continuing to Wapta Highline Trail, it remains snowbound for another ca 200 m, before the path can be found.
Caution, a secondary well defined trail close by, leading up slope, is not the WHT, but a restricted trail to the Burgess Shale site, off limits to the public, unless in a guided group.

The Yoho Pass Trail, down to Emerald Lake, is in reasonable good condition, having some avalanche debris along it’s path.

A save and fun summer.

Happy Trails, Martina
