Ski Conditions

Snow Pack description

Round Mountain Red Heather Meadows

Ski Conditions

I was guiding for Canada West Mountian School. Road is almost 100% dirt to the upper lot. We kept skiis on after walking 1.1km of trail (both up and down) and encountered new snow at 1300m. Snow depth is about 80cm at the Red Heather Cabin.
We dug a quick pit to ground on a N aspect at 1460m.
The pack was 100cm deep, there was 20cm F density new bonded well to o thin MF crust. Below that the snow varies from 4F to hard P density is all around 0c to -1c. there is a thin layer of rounding facets at about 50cm down that produced a irregular CTH.
Ski quality was sort of poor. Sloppy and warm.
Watch the rocks on the way down.
