Climbing Conditions

The cool, unsettled weather around Rogers Pass has dusted the peaks as low as 2400m. No, there is definitely not enough snow to bring the skis out, so everyone, cool your engines!

Huckleberries are plentiful between 1700-2000m. With the berries come the bears. I just surprised a grizzly who was feasting on berries next to a creek up the Hermit drainage. We were both quite surprised and quickly went in separate directions. Make lots of noise, carry bear spray, and keep hoping that we may get an alpine climbing window before winter truly arrives.
