Hello,
I guided an ascent of the Kain Route on Mt. Louis yesterday. The day was quite smokey and despite the dry forecast, we did get rained on. One thing I have noticed recently is that the smokey skies can make it difficult to determine what the clouds are actually doing. For instance, it can be hard to tell if the skies are simply smokey or if you are about to get unpleasantly surprised by an electrical storm. The day was also surprisingly cold, something I have not experienced much this summer. Otherwise, a great day on an iconic peak.
Cheers,
Andrew
