Climbing Conditions

Climbed the West Ridge of Sky Pilot today in great conditions.

Trail:
The trail in is snow free to the end of the old FSR. Where the road ends and the single track weaves up the forest we chose to kick up the avalanche path to avoid the snow covered trail in the forsest. Bet this section of trail will be covered for another week or 2.

Travel:
Good snow travel, generally boot top penetration. Not quite firm enough to boot ski!

Glacier:
Easy travel and steps up to the col.

Route:
The Pink slab is snow free with just a touch of snow to navigate on the second step. From there all technical rock sections were snow free.

Lots of other alpine routes should start coming into shape in the next couple weeks.

Enjoy.
