Climbing Conditions

Spent June 24-26 At Mt.Cline.

There is still plenty of snow in the places you want it, although melting was rapid with the onset of summer heat reaching high alpine elevations.

A useable snow ramp exists climbers left end of the lake and will likely last another week or so.
June 25th there was a good overnight freeze which made for perfect cramponing right to the ridge of Mt. Cline.

The notches are snow free and we didn't need crampons anywhere on the ridge or the summit slopes which are mostly rock.

We observed and heard numerous cornice failures off steep ridges. The slopes and cornices on Mt Owen have released previously in various places up to size 2.

Fantastic Rockies atmosphere.
