The North Face and Kain route are melting quickly after the storm last week, which deposited a fair amount of snow above 3000m. The ledges on the south side have melted: the route above the Forster hut appears dry where it needs to be and the ascent up the Patterson Spur is snow free. The bergschrund which affects the descent to the Dome from the R-R col appears open.
The nights have been warm up there and I saw one notable size 2.5 icefall from the ridge looker's right of The Torch.
