Climbed the 3 pitch route "Probate" beside the ice climbs "His and Hers"in Grotto Canyon this morning. Good route but there is still some small rubble on the ledges. Easily managed for a rope team but communication with people in the canyon is difficult to impossible currently due to the noise of the creek from Grotto Falls. The ledges below this route seemed to be the designated "daycare" today and it was really scary looking down at all those little heads and their completely unaware parents.
Also climbed the first 4 pitches of Modern Codgers before the heat got to us. Definitely an "adventure" route. Lots of pulling on thin flakes and I broke 2 of them. I also made the foolish assumption it would be all set for rappelling and now know it could use a little anchor love. There is two tree anchors where the cordage is getting a little old and brittle and could use replacing. It could use at least one more quick-link on the 2nd anchor or even just swap out those hangers for rap rings.
Lots of people up there today but only saw 1 other party climbing.
