I guided an ascent of Aftonroe today, August 2nd. The route is in fine shape. The power poles on the way to the route are being replaced and there is a drill on site and a couple of generators amongst other industrial stuff. The work crew has tied a hand line to some small aspens (one very, very small one) on the steeper part of the trail right above the road.
