We attempted to ski the Robertson-Haig-French circuit today with a Thompson Rivers University Adventure Studies group. There was a moderate freeze overnight with very good travel conditions and +2C at the Burstall parking lot at 6:00am. However, at 2300m at 8:30am as we neared the Robertson Glacier we found there had been less of a surface freeze at that elevation. Cloud cover was keeping the sun off, but then several rain cells passed over. We felt uncomfortable continuing up the valley under rain soaked slopes that had not released during yesterday's big avalanche cycle. So we went to Wasootch to play with ropes on the rock in the warm sun.
