Perfect late summer alpine rock conditions in the Valhallas the past couple of days. We climbed a route on the Little South Face of Mt Gimli yesterday and scrambled up an unnamed peak today.
The rock and lichen was very dry almost everywhere, and we climbed/belayed with T-shirts or light thermal tops all day (no puffy jackets).
Strangely we didn’t see any goats, but lots of Marmots, Pika’s and heard an Elk bugling.
Colours are beautiful right now and huckleberries abundant!
