An avalanche forecaster for the MOTI asked me to post this on the MCR to notify the public on parking options in the Kicking Horse Canyon when ice climbing in the area.

"The British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure would like to remind the public that the pullout at top of the Five Mile Hill, 8km East Golden, BC on the Trans Canada Highway is in an Avalanche Area. No parking is allowed. Vehicles parked here or along the highway shoulder are subject to fines under the Motor Vehicle Act and may be towed. Parking is permitted at the Kicking Horse Rest Area, 11km East of Golden, BC."
