The Canadian Mountain and Ski Guide alpine training course has been in the Neil Colgan area for the last few days. Travel has been variable with little or no overnight freeze and wet snow. We climbed the bottoms of a couple of the north face routes today and found very wet snow conditions that would have been unpleasant had we continued. The attached photo will give you an idea of the current overhead hazard. Also, the group that approached the hut via the Scheisser route reported more rockfall than usual due to lingering snow in some overhead gullies.
