Climbing Conditions

I guided an ascent of Mt. Crown (Willingdon 2) September 8-10 for Alpinism.com
This peak is just over 11k and a new addition to Bill Corbett's 11 thousanders second edition.
Overall good conditions on this non-technical ascent. We scrambled the south gully to the col between Willingdon and Crown and followed the SE ridge to the summit and back to our bivy at Clearwater Pass. It felt a little like winter above 2900m with up to 60cm of new snow in lee areas that were easily avoidable in the ascent gully. Good travel along the wind blown ridge.

I included photos of Willingdon main/Crown/south, SE ridge of Crown and Willingdon from Crown.
