Climbing Conditions

We found excellent conditions on a traverse of Mount Edziza in northern B.C. Highway 37 is now entirely paved to Tatogga Lake. Alpine Lakes Air operates a floatplane service from there. The trail from Buckley Lake to the plateau is in very good condition. The snow line on the glaciers is at about 2,400 m. All creeks were easy to cross. The trail down Chakima Creek to Mowdade Lake is poorly laid out and poorly maintained, but if the trip is done N to S it is mostly in descent. We took a leisurely six days.
