Ski Conditions

We skiied E, NE terrain up to low alpine today. The buried surface hoar layer under the new snow was alive and well. Test results indicated easy sudden collapse results down 20-25 cm.

Thia layer was easily skier controlled @ TL down 10-25 but lacking cohesion and propagation in places we travelled. Very soft slab.

Due to this, we maintained spacing, and avoided wind -affected and unsupported terrain up to 2100 metres.

Although we were hoping for an inversion, it was -19 at noon today upper treeline.
