With plans to go alpine climbing at the visitors' centre on the Icefields Parkway we stepped out of the car to high winds and swirling winds.
Plan B was The Weeping Wall but on arriving in the parking we noticed that the ice on the Uber classic Mixed Master was still looking fat. So we traded a two hour approach for a ten minute approach and climbed 7 quality pitches, the last of which is often unformed and this year requires a gentle touch being only 15 centimeters wide in spots.
The last period of sunny weather has cured the pick marks from this season's traffic, and the longer days made it easy and a relaxing outing, getting back to the ground easily in good time.
Highly recommended in moderate temperatures, best with a slight overcast.
Enjoy!
