Mega Face on February 1st, 2017. Surface was softer than expected, with better snow lower on the face. Upper part of the face was firm and chalky in places and soft and supportable in others. Good coverage from top to bottom, with a few thin spots in the main path, about halfway down the face. The face appeared to have slid previously this season. Isolated wind slabs on cross loaded features on approach from the east, which we felt were manageable with good route finding. Good skin track from the parking lot all the way to the final approach slopes, where the skin track had been wind loaded.
