Trail Conditions

Hi Folks

This trip lead us from Bryant Creek Trail to the junction of Owl Lake and Marvel Pass.
Within the first kilometer of starting Marvel Pass Trail, a small detour is guiding you with flagging tape to reach a bridge covered creek crossing.
Although from that point on, the trail is defined for most of its length to Marvel Pass, some short sections are overgrown and vague at times.

This scenic trip might appeal to more experienced hikers, as it gets increasingly rougher on the second half of the trail, that leads down from Marvel Pass to Marvel Lake.
Numerous fallen trees and rocky, uneven terrain will slow you down a bit on this forested downhill section.

Caution!
The extremely slippery midsection of a log, crossing the first of two inflowing creeks into Marvel Lake, had me fighting to keep my balance (succeeded:)
A better option would be to wade this shin to knee deep creek a few meters down from the log.

A short section of more flagging tape will bring you to the shores of Marvel Lake, at which point a well worn trail will connect you to a junction with Wonder Pass Trail, higher up.

Wonder Pass Trail to Bryant Creek Trail junction is in good condition, as is Bryant Creek Trail itself.

Be alert, this whole area is prime bear habitat.

In one of Pearl Jam's lyrics, Eddie Vedder sings:" See the path cut by the moon, for you to walk on"
With that in mind, a great journey to all who seek it.

Happy Trails, Martina:)
