Avalanche Conditions

Skied up the Ferris Glacier to Little Crowfoot Peak today. We found 190-260 cm of snow on the glacier with no crevasses visible though we avoided any sags.

There was extensive wind effect in the alpine with strong gusty SW winds moving snow around all the way into treeline. We avoided one steeper slope due to the presence of wind slabs. No new avalanches observed but visibility was limited in the alpine.

Skiing on the glacier was quite variable but improved in sheltered areas of the moraines and was good below treeline.

Lots of traffic in and out of Bow Hut with a solid trail through the canyon and up the headwall below the hut.
