Climbing Conditions

Spent 4 days in Cerise Creek at the Motel 66 (at 2000m below Joffre) area instructing a course July 14-17. We had mainly sunny skies but some unsettled weather as well where we received 3 cm of snow/hail overnight. There was an overnight freeze 2 out of 3 nights above 2000m. There is good covereage on the glaciers, but some crevasses are starting to open and snow bridges starting to sag. There is evidence of a deep slab avalanche on a hanging snow face on the west side of Joffre, suspected trigger is cornice fall.
