Climbing Conditions

Great conditions on sky pilot right now and lots of folks out enjoying the alpine. Snow is all gone from the pink slab and S face gullies, yet moats and crevasses are generally well bridged. Axes and crampons were not needed above the sky pilot-copilot col. Snow was firm in the early morning providing fast travel, typical melt freeze conditions, softening up by late morning. We observed no signs of any recent avalanche activity, but did see some natural rockfall in obvious places.

Also of note the sea to sky gondola’s “long term parking” lot now has “no overnight parking” signs everywhere courtesy of the district of Squamish which was mildly inconvenient for us.
