Travel to the South West Ridge of Mount Terminal via Perley Rock.
Most of the trails in Roger Pass are snow free. The trail to Perley Rock only has two patches of snow left at the top. The higher and biggest snow patch could be hazardous to cross if it freezes hard overnight. It provides a good sliding potential if one slips.
The Toe of the Illecillewaet Glacier has no snow at all up to probably 2300 meters. Just past Perly Rock (2400 meters), we transition onto a snow-covered glacier. Height of snow on the glacier range from 30 cm to 130cm. We probe once 160 cm near the Terminal ridge at about 2600 meters.
Travel conditions were not bad with trail braking averaging about 10 cm.
Most of the Ridges in Roger Pass are snow-free, even the North East Ridge of Sir Donald is in good shape.
It seems to be at least one month earlier in the season, looking at how the snow melts.
Sincerely,
