Ski Conditions

I spent Wednesday and Thursday ski touring in the Parker's/Hilda zone. Fresh snow from Tuesday made for good dust on hardslab/crust skiing on Wednesday. There was little evidence of Avalanche activity except for one small skier accidental on a convex windloaded roll at treeline (8 m wide, 20-50 cm deep, hard windslab). We skied conservatively. By Thursday all the pow was pretty much blown around into hard surfaces with some decent carvable planar slopes. Again we continued skiing conservatively.

Parks closed the road as we drove south yesterday afternoon, apparently in anticipation of a snowfall warning with the estimated opening not until tomorrow.
