Went for a hike up Mist Mountain today. I was thrown off guard by not finding culvert mentioned in Dafferan's book. Once on the trail travelling was good as we approach treeline. Stay out of the well worn dirt paths and choose to hire dirt line. Some snow is lingering but of no consequence. Trail in alpine was easy travelling to the cirque. The scree to the false summit was a slog but great views. On the descent snow filled the bottom of the cirque making for a break from walking on the talus. No smoke up high with big views.
