We just returned from a week in the northern Purcell Range. Even though there was a significant amount of melt during our time out we found mostly excellent snow conditions with good travel even late in the day. Snow patches can still be found at treeline elevations and it was easy traveling on snow covered moraines. Crevasses were well bridged.
We did not see any significant avalanche activity except for a couple of large cornice falls.
Wildflowers were out in full force and the mosquitoes were beginning to be bothersome.
