Good Freeze

Crowfoot Mtn, Banff National Park

Ski Conditions

I guided Crowfoot today, 7 May. We had a good overnight freeze with supportive travel and slush to corn turns.

The canyon has a bunch of open water, but we were able to make it with only one skis-off crossing. We climbed up out to the east before the narrower upper section which has more open water. We didn't exit the canyon on our way back down, so I don't know how it fared in today's heat.

Great views from Mt. Assiniboine to Columbia.

We skiied across the lake both ways.
