Avalanche Canada Forecasts

Avalanche Canada's regular forecasts begin on Friday, November 23, 2018 at www.avalanche.ca where you can also find our Mountain Weather Forecast and the Mountain Information Network (MIN). The MIN is a free public snow, weather, and avalanche information sharing platform. It's for everyone from pros that want to provide technical data to recreationists who want to share stories about their trips and report local conditions using a non-technical format.

MIN data is a valuable resource for Avalanche Canada forecasters and we welcome all posts, even if it's just a photo and a few lines of text in the comments section. We encourage everyone to provide information using the MIN and to use the MIN to get information about what other people are experiencing and seeing. And if that's not enough incentive, regular prizes are awarded to folks who contribute. Please consider posting to the MIN every time you go out into the mountains.

Quick links to the Mountain Weather Forecast and the MIN are found in the bottom left side of the home page map. You can learn more about the MIN here: https://www.avalanche.ca/mountain-information-network

If you prefer to provide information directly to the forecasters, you can send an email to: forecaster@avalanche.ca or call 250-837-2141 ext. 104.

Coming soon: an updated version of our mobile app that will offer better access to all the data on our website as well as enhanced MIN posting functions from your mobile device.

All of us at Avalanche Canada wish all of you a safe and enjoyable winter and we look forward to seeing your MIN posts this season.
