Ski Conditions

took some clients out to flute/oboe today. Had passed through there earlier this week and observed 2cm surface hoar to ridgetop. Today, found easy shears at the storm snow interface, whumpfing and cracking. New storm snow (up to 40cm) is now sitting on the hoar, facets and crust.
Witnessed a skier triggered size 1.5 avalanche on the obvious roll at the top of flute cruiser which ran quite far. see photo..

have a good weekend and enjoy the pow!
