Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

Just back from 2 days at Lake O'Hara. First time back since March and it felt great to see the whole place in fine fettle.

Relevant to the MCR we traversed the Wiwaxy Towers on the 23rd (still chossy) and climbed Huber today(24th). Excellent conditions on Huber with good snow from the toe of both Glacers to the summit and dry rock everywhere else.

Victoria looks icy to gain the ridge from Huber Glacier. Lefroy looks icy but climbable. Glacier from the Ringrose couloir looks good. Hungabee still has a lot of snow on the West Face so rockfall on a warm afternoon would be a serious concern. Odaray and Cathedral look great.

Raining steadily when we left this afternoon and maybe new snow down to at least 2900m already.
