A few wet patches

Mt Begbie

Climbing Conditions

Yesterday we climbed the regular route up Mt Begbie. The rock was dry along the traverse ledge up to the North Ridge. Once we gained the North Ridge, there were lots of wet patches to be careful of from recent snow melt, but not enough to slow us down too much. There were also a few small snow patches, surface hoar and verglas near the summit.

There's a new rap station to get off the traverse ledge, so you don't need as much rope anymore. Rappel is about 15m.

We had some great views from the summit of the Gold Range, photo attached along with some others including the bergschrund below the East Col.
