Ski Conditions

Excellent spring ski conditions on Observation Sub-peak today!

10-15 cm of recent snow with minimal wind effect on high North aspects remained dry all morning. South aspects provided good dust on crust skiing and even a bit of corn skiing on the way home. The crust was supportive all the way down to the highway and made for an easy exit. Ski crampons were useful in a few areas on the ascent.

Some sluffing in steep gullies and several avalanches up to size 2.5 in the alpine on various aspects failing down 30-40 cm in the last couple days...so still a few weaknesses to watch for in the snowpack.
