Yesterday November 5 Scott Davis and I skied up to Balu Pass (connaught creek).
We started with our ski on at the parking lot were we found 10 cm. At about 1800 meters the HS was consistently 90 cm and at 2000 meters we were finding 110cm. Near the top of the pass and higher up on the ridge we were finding in lots of area 145 cm.
The clouds lift up enough yesterday to allow us to see evidence of an avalanche cycle (which most likely happened during the last warming event few days ago) that almost reach valley floor in many of the slide paths running down to connaught creek.
Ski penetration yesterday was about 25 cm and boots penetration about 60 cm. Good early season snow pack, we manage to ski down to the road taking our ski off only once.
